Biggies for Christmas

Just as the Ramadan films are getting encouraging results from the box office, the countdown for the films for the next season has already begun. Four Malayalam movies are getting ready in the studios to grace the theatres for this Xmas. The biggest among the releases will be Mohanlal's Major Ravi movie 'Kandahar'.

Superstar Mohanlal will present his 'Kandahar' in which he is teaming up with the popular director Major Ravi, after a gap of years. Ashirvaad Release which will distribute the movie informed that they only have plans to release the movie by the 16th of December.

The latest news for this Christmas is that Mammootty’s ‘Best Actor’ has been confirmed for 24th of this December. The movie which was earlier planned to make a release on the November 23rd was shifted due to non completion of its DI works.

Mammootty has another big problem to sort out before the release of this movie. It is all about the release of his ‘August15’ his movie with director Shajikilas, which is in production for the last portions .But the problem, is that with a heavily congested month with plenty of releases, the makers can’t find enough theatres to release the movie this December. As per the latest plans ‘August15’ may get pushed to first week of February.

Dileep will have a ‘Merikundoru Kunjadu’, which is directed by hit maker Shafi, after their last hit ‘Kalyanaraman'. The movie will make a release on the 23rd of December.The other films planned for this December will include Sureshgopi’s Anil C Menon movie ‘Collector’, and Director Lal’s ‘Tournament’.

With such a heavy release schedules, chances are that some of the films in this list may postpone their release dates to the first weeks of January, which is normally a season of few movies.
